<CLARI-ITEM STORY>
<P> PALMDALE, Calif., April 14 (UPI) -- A murder charge was
filed Thursday against a 13-year-old California boy who allegedly
beat another teen to death at a youth baseball game.</P>
<P> The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office said the
Palmdale youth would be arraigned Friday in the death of Jeremy
Rourke, who was struck twice in the head during an altercation at a
Pony League field in Palmdale.</P>
<P> Witnesses and authorities said the suspect was upset at his
undefeated team losing the season's final game late Tuesday and he
was being teased when he allegedly suddenly took the bat and hit
Jeremy.</P>
<P> The suspect was lodged at a juvenile detention facility
pending further action.</P>
<P> The Los Angeles Daily News said the death stunned the inland
region of L.A. County. A candlelight vigil was held Wednesday at the
field where the killing occurred.</P>
